Update on American Soldier

American Soldier says,

Hi, this is Mrs.AS. I wanted to let everyone know how American Soldier is doing.

As you all know American Soldier left the end of last week to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. He packed his gear and headed out to the processing station. I talked to him while he was there and he was really looking foreword to leaving. I asked him why this why so addictive for him. His reply was this; “ I have the ability to help others. I have the ability to maybe even change someone’s life in some way. And it is with great pride that I do this. And now I am doing it with even greater pride because it is here, on American soil, for our own people.” That is why my husband serves, for the good of others.

He arrived down south yesterday. With much excitement he told me that he got to fly and land in the cockpit. He did say however, that they flew right over the ruins of Katrina. He was in awe at all that he saw. He knows his unit, and all the others going to help, are going to have a big job ahead of them.

I got a wake up call from him this morning. He hopes to hopes to be going into the city this afternoon. He said he is getting restless and can’t wait to be out there. As far as his shoulder goes, Last night he took some Tylenol for the pain. Something he has not done since he first injured it this spring. Other than that, he’s doing well.

I hope to have more news in the coming days. And when i do I will keep everyone up to date. Thank you all for you thoughts and prayers.

Ya know… (waxing philosophical here) ~K and I were talking yesterday, and we both wonder if perhaps THIS is why he never made it over to the Sandbox this time around…maybe it was because he would be needed here.

“That is why my husband serves, for the good of others.”

And we are TRULY grateful for him and for you ~ you all do so much for the nation, and we are thankful for you! :)

    Mrs. AS,
Thank you for the update on AS. I’m so glad that he arrived down there safely. I hope that he and all the other soldiers and relief workers will be blessed to be able to help many people and I’m sure they will!

That is so admirable of AS to go to help others when he needed to stay home and have surgery. That’s what an selfless person does with a big heart who wants to help others does!

Thank you too Mrs. AS for your service as well. You stand by AS and support him in these decisions that he makes to go and put his life on the line for others. You are to be commended too!!

We are all praying for AS and all the relief workers as well as all the people who have lost their and homes and belongings!!

I look forward to your next update!!
