MSM Sharks and the War!
American Soldier says,
On 9/8/04 I made a post about the 1000th person killed in Iraq. I was pissed and ranted about it and how the media were like sharks swimming around a piece of meat.
So now a little over a year later, another 1000 soldiers have just about perished in this war. The biggest headline is this hurricane, here, here & here. Seems that is the only thing of interest coming from the MSM.
However there were some other important pieces of news about the war today. As of today there is 1998 American soldiers who have died.
There was a significant attack on the Palestine Hotel that killed over 20 people. These are not confirmed numbers.
The Iraqi constitution votes are still being counted. Seems there is some opposition coming from the Sunni’s. Seems they fear that the Shiites and Kurds are going to gain too much power as a result of this constitution.
So if the MSN won’t post it, then I will. I mean we all can’t be sharks in this pool can we? Mind you, I had to do some digging to find news about Iraq today with the exception of Foxnews.

Don’t dispair too much AS! If they weren’t writing about the hurricanes and tryoing to put it to the president over his handling of relief efforts, they would be writing some more of that diatribe they call news about Iraq. However, I wrote a little something abvout the media, etc. to day I’d like to sahere with you. I am trying to be more literate. Since you are a good writer, I’d appreciate an honest critique if you don’t feel imposed upon and have time. I promise I am a big girl and will take it all in the spiirit it wss intended. Thank you for the update. It is I am sure a much better and fairer one than the MSM!

Yeh! I watch Fox News the most. They do seem to be the most fair and balanced. Although they tend to get on one subject of the day alot too.

Hey AS i just wanted to let you know that i was watching the news this morning, oct 26, before work and ABC7 in Los Angeles mentioned that the number of deaths is now up to 2001. It is very unfortunate but at least someone is covering the issue!

Id rather the MSM not make such a big deal about it. They try to spin it like we shouldn’t be in the war. That this is all sad. It pisses me off that they use our hurt and despair for their ratings. CNN is a good example, they use the war when there isn’t anything really happening.
It’s just a weird concept of how the media views the raw facts over there.
