The photos of the family watching the airplane bring back memories of when my Dad would leave for Vietnam. War takes such a toll on the men and women who serve and on their families. I am so grateful that you and others are so willing to serve our country. God bless you and your family.
I’ve been a reader for a few months and have never posted a comment before. Just want to say that I absolutly love your site and can’t wait to get your book.
My husband left in September and won’t be back till March. Even though he’s in the Air Force, I still consider him my soldier. This song has been one that I have tried not to listen to or watch the video since he left. Its heart wrenching to me, but at the same time uplifting because my husband is actually doing something really good whenever he leaves. I think sometimes alot of people forget that. Though those guys never want to leave their life behind and spend months or years away from home, they do have a general realization that they are going for a good cause and they take pride in that.
So even though I’m sitting here balling my eyes out, I’m really glad that you showed this video. I do believe this video is 100% true with the way these men and women in every branch feel. I don’t think alot of people know that or don’t want to believe it.

#2~ I love this song. I get goosebumps whenever I listen to it. It reminds me what is lost (even for a little while) when a Soldier has to leave his family.
#3~ Being in a Soldiers Family is one of the toughest jobs.- I cried when my 3 yr old asked me where his Daddy was while he was deployed.
#4~ This song also reminds me just how much I Love America.
