A day in the life of an American Soldier. The personal passages of everything from family life to war.

How he’s doing

American Soldier says,

Well, I have been in contact with AS a few times since he’s left. He did arrive safely. When he left we were under the impression the he was going to be placed in a Platoon SGT position. Once he finally reached his destination he was told he would be fulfilling a sniper position. He was very happy about this. So needless to say, he has been extremely busy.

I sent out his first care packages this morning. He will be getting his Xbox in a week or so. He is looking forward to that.

Overall he is doing great. And as most of you know, he is right where he wants to be.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. It means alot to us.

Mrs. AS, I am glad to hear AS is where he wants to be. I will pray for his safety regularly. But, knowing how hard this is on those left behind, I will pray especially hard for you and the kids. You are his bedrock. He could do what he does without you, but your love and that of the kids, and your support is what gives him an extra edge.So we’re all goingf to do our best to make sure you are ok too. You carry a heavy burden.

  13. Paul Says:

    whoa.
That’s quite a change, from platoon sgt to sniper! I hope it truly is something that he’s happy about.

Like you said, Mrs. AS, he’s happy and where he wants to be.

Be safe, AS, and “get some” for those of us who can’t.

    To Mrs AS:

You. Are. Priceless. Like AS, I have a Mrs that is 100% behind everything I do. She is a Godsend. I am far from the pointed end of the spear, so my Mrs. doesn’t have the same concerns you do. Still, with a Helpmeet that provides all the logistical, moral and emotional support so I can go out and do what God put me here for, I am free to fulfill my destiny as a husband and a provider. I cannot tell you how liberating that is. I feel sorry for the poor schmucks who have not yet found this one of a kind person. I hope this is a someone they also can one day enjoy.

Thank you for being the support that AS needs so he can pull the trigger without distraction. And as for you, thank you for being his support so that we here at home can enjoy with you the fruits of his labors.

Godspeed to you both. In Jesus’ Name I declare the Favor of God on AS for his protection and safe return in the fullness of time.
