Astronauts more of a story than Iraq!
American Soldier says,
I could give two shits about this crazy Astronaut chick who got a little jealous and wanted to beat down the lover of her boyfriend. What about the Helo that went down today and the soldiers who died? The MSM’s post as the top headline that this stupid woman is what should be important to America! The funnt thing is now that I read the story, they make it sound like she is insane for doing what she did. I think the opposite, she may be a little crazy but the jealousy attribute is within everyone. Now she took it too far, that doensn’t make her crazy!
Anyway….

What has happened to our society? We have made heros out of people in films and have forgotten the TRUE heros the men and women who fight to keep our countries free.
American Soldier - I completely agree with you about the distortion of what is really news. I think it’s important to try to understand why this happens. It appears to me that many, if not most, Americans feel little connection with the war. They don’t know any soldiers and they don’t think anyone in their family will be involved. This is one critical difference between now and the Vietnam War. When there was a draft and people thought someone they knew might be drafted they had more sense of connection. They wanted to know what was happening, unlike now, when many people want to avoid knowing.
Phyllis - Nancy Pelosi did not ask for the airplane. The Sargent-at-Arms of the House said he requested it because of current security measures. The President’s press secretary said yesterday that he couldn’t why this story got started.

Jana - Yes, that came out after I posted my angry comment. I do believe she did make the remark though that they were making a big deal about it because she was a woman. This is offensive to me because frankly I am tired of that card being played. It seems to be a cop out for everything. To me, the whining downplays the fact that she is indeed one of, if not THE most powerful woman in the world. It is not necessary nor becoming. I don’t really give a rip if they give her the space shuttle to flit around in as long as it doesn’t take away from our military.
