Just watch…
American Soldier says,
I don’t understand the stance that the populace has taken towards our military. I feel as if I went off and did the wrong thing at times. Why can’t people see that we fight for a greater cause? We sacrifice so you can have freedoms. We don’t die and get maimed because we have done something wrong or our society has accepted something wrong. We fight the global war on terror. You all remember 9/12/01. You know what it felt like to lose people or feel helpless.
The days after 9/11 I went to ground zero and I helped savage what I could. I helped in the various rescue missions. I did what I could. I felt helpless like everyone else. People cried out towards me to help them. I could do nothing then but I swore I would do what I could in the days to follow.
It wasn’t more than a year later that I volunteered to enter the service again and soon after be deployed to fight for my country. I did what I did to help those who asked me those long days after 9/11. I swore it to them and I swore to myself that I would do what I needed to do.
Now, 6 years later I feel like the public is turning their back on me. Why do I feel this way? I know there is a community who will support me always but I reach out to those who oppose me. Why do you try to hurt me? Why do you try and take from my fellow brother who is forward and outside the wire right now?
I came so close to dying that I feel as if I’ve been given a second chance at life. I look back and I clearly remember how close it came. I could have been one of the many grave scenes in the film above. However I am not. I am alive and breathe life in and exhale my compassion. You wish I would just go away but I won’t. I am a warrior and I may die an old man who wore his Iraq Veteran hat with my many medals on it. Just like the generation before me.
Don’t hate me with such vile hatred. The bad man in the middle night will not hurt you because I have taken his life before he could reach you….remember that!

You’ve got to stop listening to Libtards. Rememeber, sticks and stones.
Here, have a drink on me.
Any body want to go Libtard hunting
: 2 Libtards from California just came back from comforting the enemy. Both have commited a felonie, by doing that and breaking the LOGAN act
It’s a week since they came back and they are still free imagine
. Seems like no one in Washington is interested in catching law breakers. The pen is mightier than the sword, & many pens can accomplish wonderous things. My list of folks to contact is half done. Is any one interested in catching Libtard traitors
:
A S remember that you are appreciated & loved for your efforts to preserve our freedoms.
AS - If you make it back to NYC - look up my ID - There is a beer (or 3) waiting - heck - I know a few Main Stream Media types that will even buy a few - of course, we all work back office and have nothing to do with what goes on the air - too many idiots here. Sigh
I too can’t understand these folks, and have given up trying. I generally ignore them. I just do my best to support the folks in our Armed Forces, and our Vets - the way Mom and Dad taught me to
Your response is understandable, as the MSM loves to undercut and betray our warriors. They will do anything possible to undermine George W., and for them, you are just collateral damage. There is no real understanding or concern about our warriors. Hence, I have stopped reading many papers, and stopped watching the MSM television news. If I want the Truth, I stop here (and other blogs such as B5, Smash, Hook and others) to get what is going on without the spin.
You are not alone. There are many who have your back. There are many (far more than the idiot left) who support your work and pray for you. Bro, you are not alone. Never have been, never will be.
If nothing else shows the American viewpoint, it was the Gathering of Eagles. The liberal left was left out in the cold (figuratively and literally) on that day, when they were outnumbered by Patriotic Americans. I have no idea how many other Americana’s wanted to be there but could not do it (me!). Be strong. You are not alone.
We will be there for you. We will watch your back. You even have people willing to buy you adult beverages (lol). Me, I just stick to Dr. Pepper (the diet kind) as being diabetic does limit what I can drink (lol).
Americans have turned their backs on you and all of us. It’s over, and we willwait to be attacked again. No ofense to you AS, but America has lost its way in dealing with terror. It will take more men like you to fight it again after the next attack, because they would not let you fight this war.
You did a job and no one better ever turn teir back to you! Or the others like you. It’s everyone AS not just you.
Hey AS I am just writing here to say I am 100% with you. I realize all this is is a bunch of words from some stranger, but I hope you know we are here and we support you.
Thank you for everything.
99% of all Americans support our troops. However, that is not true of our support for Bush or the war in Iraq.
One of the “freedoms” that we have here in the United States is that each individual is allowed to vote and make choices based upon their own reasons.
It is not the “left” that no longer is willing to support an open ended committment to Iraq here is what the over all commander had to say about it today.

AS, I’m still here supporting you. I want the war to end, but I want us to WIN it. I’m so po’d that our forces have been hamstrung by bogus policies and bad decisions.
My dad is a WWII veteran. Our family has always been involved with the VFW. My mother and grandmother were in the VFW Ladies Auxilliiary and all of us kids helped with various fundraisers. (It’s much harder for an adult ot say no to a little kid selling Buddy Poppy’s.
)
My dad is in charge of placing crosses and flags on the graves of veterans for Memorial Day and Veterans Day at our church cemetary. They are stored in a bucket upstairs in an unused bedroom. My parents don’t venture upstairs often, so it was me who discovered during a visit home that the chimney leaked in my bedroom. I peeked in the other bedroom that shares the chimney and that ceiling too was stained. Dad came upstairs to help me clean it up and we both just about cried when we saw the bucket full of flags and crosses leaning up against the chimney, covered with streaks of dirty creosote resin.
Fortunately, the resin was fresh and washed off the crosses and the newer nylon flags, but the cotton flags and other decorations were ruined. It felt like a bad omen to me. And sure enough, our worthless politiicians can’t get their heads out of their asses long enough to give our guys some monetary support. Bastards!
Don’t lose faith. It may look bleak, but there is always hope.
I hate it that you soldiers come across people like this. I for one, am grateful that there are men and women fighting to protect me and mine. So that this country can keep the freedoms it has.
Thank you.
No worries AS, the quitters are quitting. Congresscreep Reid is a classic yellow backed micro-weenie castrati throated worbler. He’s a tiny pecker, so don’t blink.
I believe in you still, I have never given up on you or victory.
Those who have given nothing to our country before or after 9/11 feel compelled to armchair quarterback for the rest of us.
We should pay them little heed like many before have stated.
But…..it hurts, and it will not go unchecked.
Bask in the love of yer good wife and strong healthy children.
And feel our daily prayers and gratitude.
Here is some interesting knowledge and advice.
Go to “walterreed.blogspot.com” and read his entry….”life lessons the army has taught me”
It is really GOOD. You will enjoy!
AS please know that you have lots of support from us. Many of us who only know you through your blog. We support you 100%, regardless of what those who’ve never walked a mile in your shoes say. My thoughts about them is that if they’re not willing to step up to the plate and do what you’ve done for our country, then they need to shut the hell up.
AS, certainly you have heard the phrase “You can please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time”
During times of war, there will always be people who oppose military action, and therefore oppose our troops, sometimes in the ugliest of ways. You’ll never change that. But try not to concern yourself with those people, as hard as that might be.
Instead, focus on the people who are grateful for you and do support you, and trust that they…..we…..will always watch your back.
Well, know this… I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do this country and for us. Thank you for making my life better and the lives of my children. I know you that you know in your heart that what you do is right, never forget it. This family will always stand by our soldiers.

It is troubling. I know. I’m a three tour vet of Vietnam and faced the same attitude. But it is not everyone who disrespects you. Most people know why you sacrificed so much and appreciate your service. Those who don’t have yet to experience the true hardness and, yes, the sometimes awful evil that can color our lives. In their ignorance they often adopt beliefs that will not stand the heat of real conflict.
Remember, you are the sheepdog who guards the sheep against the ravaging wolves. You are the cowboy, slabsided, square jawed, hamfisted who with flinty eyes stares down the badman. You choose to stand fast when others flee. It is in the genes, soldier, and can sometimes seem a curse. It is not. You will always have the knowledge that you stood tall when it counted. Riches and acclaim are paltry gifts when compared to this.
I remember, while watching TV on 9/11 the cameraman was focused on a group of firefighters slumped exhausted on the grass. Suddenly something happened off screen, don’t remember what but it was loud and dramatic. To a man they stood, grabbed their gear and ran to the point of danger. The narrator wondered aloud “How can they do that?” And I’m thinking ” Wrong question. How can they not?” Soldier, I believe were you there you too would be running to the point of danger. You are our shield. Thank you.
AS, It is the the moral, ethical, responsible thing for every single American to support you and all warriors. For those who do not, you didn’t fight for them because they are not true Americans. We, as real Americans, have a duty to stand up to these anti-Americans. Rest assure, AS, I will not stop counter-protesting the protesters, sending mail to troops, communicating with veterans or anything else I need to do to make my voice heard. Them? The others? They will be silenced by all true Patriots roars!!
Honor is yours, then, now and forever.
im only 16, i watched the vid and the first 30 seconds made me tear up
i plan to join the USMC after college. just wanted to say how proud i am of each one of you that serves our country and i cant wait to join you in the ranks of the heros that protect our nation.
i understand that you risk your life and i am deeply thankful for that, i hope for all the wellness in the world toyou, just know that no matter how bad it gets there are others like you, i may only be 16 but this is a
FACT…. you arent alone.
god bless.
The majority of the people have neither the training nor the knowledge needed to understand the Iraq war, and focus on things like WMD, oil, and other “surface” issues. Condoleeza Rice made a decent effort once, trying to explain how the cultural attitudes of the middle east create and sustain terrorism, and how taking out Saddam was an important step in changing the culture, but the vast majority didn’t even hear it, and to most that did, it sailed clear over their heads. Oh well. So it goes on- they have no idea why we’re in Iraq, to a degree you can’t blame them for having issues.
Ben
Nobody was saying that Americans were stupid back when they supported the war.
There is always some group talking about the imminent danger that is certain to befall our country.
Iraq has been a waste of lives and treasure. 4 years in and things look worse now than at the beginning.
AS,
I am with you and I thank you so much for what you have done for our country and are doing as well! I’m so sorry that people out there don’t support our military in a time of war, they are just idiots and don’t know what they are doing to our country by not supporting you! They are doing our country great harm!
God Bless You and Yours!!
There are many Americans who simply do not deserve you.
You should know that there are still many of us doing our best to earn your respect.
I realize it often seems like this, but please do not ever forget that there are many many of us supporting you. It seems because the propaganda against the military, that is seen more than those of us–the American people–who support you. I promise you there are an infinite number out there who are proud of you and are grateful to you. To me, the American Soldier is worthy of the greatest honor and thanks that I could possibly express. Thank you for your service, for your sacrifices. You and those like you are my heroes.
To Greg Elliot—Wonderfully said!!!
AS, look at the response to one who would demean you, how many have come forward to hold you up.
You and the men you represent are our American treasure—Lots of us little mom and pops out here—Proud Infidels—We Will Not Submit!
“Nobody was saying that Americans were stupid back when they supported the war.”
You’re working off of someone else’s space time continuum again, John, in our universe, supporters of the war were characterized from the get go as having every conceivable mental deficiency. And those that were just too damn obviously educated to pin a moron label to (Condi, Rumsfeld) became targets for other abuse.
But also, from the beginning, there were smart and dumb reasons. Sadly, reality being what it is, Bush chose not to dwell on the smart reasons (realignment of middle eastern social structures), possibly thinking that if Americans had a good inkling of the task he was setting out to do, they’d be a little apprehensive. Basically, rationales for war work out like this:
1)Oil. Ridiculous assertion. Oil companies lobbied AGAINST the war, against sanctions, were ready to deal with Saddam, just like they deal with dictators and thugs everywhere else in the world.
2) Revenge for 9-11 Also silly, Iraq did not directly contribute, revenge for 9-11 was never even an Administration claim.
3) Preventive medicine. Important, and under appreciated. So Saddam did not have a huge nuke- chemical weapons program. Many people thought so, including Iraqi generals! It is likely Saddam himself thought he had one- or was manuevering to recreate one, once the sanctions wore off. If you recall, the sanctions were on their last legs at the time, inspectors were gone, and China, France, Germany, and Russia were openly calling for the end of all sanctions- continuing them would not have survived a UN security council vote. When Rice spoke of a threat that would be unknown until the mushroom cloud, she was exactly right- the threat was unknown. Now, we are sure. We know there is absolutely no threat of a nuke armed Saddam, nor will there be. In the context of the Long War, we have bought that certainty with the lives of soldiers, but it may be worth it.
4) Free Iraqis. Especially, Prevent Genocide (and in the Marshes, Ecocide) by Saddam. Good, although it leaves open the issue, are we OK we doing this elsewhere? Most Iraqis are happy he’s gone- voices to the contrary almost always come from the minority class (increasingly minority) that benefitted from Saddam. But the media seeks them out anyway. Sort of like finding white plantation owners after the US civil war and asking them if the end of slavery was a good thing or not.
5)Remove Saddam as a factor in presumed Long War against radical islam. Let’s see- the US and the western world is locked in mortal struggle with an alien, radical, and violent philosophy. Here is a brutal and unpredictable ruler who openly supports that philosophy. Indeed, one of two national leaders who openly approved of the 9-11 attack. Given the shame/honor/pride aspect of that culture, given that such open defiance and hostility towards the US, if nothing else, emboldened attacks against us and lent moral justification to the attackers, in the Long War context why wouldn’t you want to take him out?
6) Change society of middle east. Best chance to change a society for the better- move a lot of Americans there, let them stay a few decades, interact. It certainly worked in Korea. One of the ways by which the radical islamic world protects itself from Western, liberal thought is actively blocking potential links: for example, while the Saudis are happy to fund islamic studies chairs ar American universities because “we need to be exposed”, they would never allow the revese. They do not wish their young minds to be exposed anything other than their own propaganda and racism. But in Iraq, exposure is certain. The more American style thinking rubs off on Iraqis, the better off the world will be. Every time a little girl in Iraq sees an American woman giving orders and carrying a gun and says “I can do that, too” we win a little more.
That last one is something a president can’t talk about, because of where it obviously leads. It’s kind of like in WWII- there were strategies that the US and UK followed that were deliberately intended to make things worse for the USSR, and vice versa, but no one could actually talk about that. For example, the Yalta agreements. For another example, strategic bombing priorities- had the US and UK given some effort to severing logistics for the German Army on the East Front, the war might have been over a few months earlier- but the allies would have met on the Rhine, not in the middle of Germany, and the Soviets would have been left in control of all of Germany. But for political reasons, if asked why the rail lines eastward were never bombed, a leader has to mumble and lie, he can never openly say “we wanted our ally to suffer a little more”. Likewise, today, there are things Bush really can’t say, because it ends up with “our ultimate strategy is to undermine the religious tradition in Saudi Arabia, our ally”. Can’t go there. Yet.
Ben
I am a thankful citizen that supports you and your mission.
I am not an ass hat who says they support the troops but not the war.
I am thankful that there are men and women that can put aside their feelings and go and kill an enemy so my children will not have to.
I can not imagine what it is like to be a worrier and to fight not only for your life in that moment, but for a nation, and in that nation are people who dont support you but you fight for their right not to support you.
I thank you .
My family thanks you.
My children thank you.
i’m from a town with lots of immigrants, my parents included. and of all the guys i know serving in iraq or about to graduate from service academies, 80% of them are the sons’ of immigrants.
some people forget how good it can be to live in america.
we haven’t.
hope to hear from u.
John Ryan appears to have all the facts. Ok, guys time to go home. Let the terror camps get all set-up in Iraq (again) so they can launch a bigger and better attack on America. Maybe this time, they will actually hit close enough to Mr. Ryan for him to care. I work with an idiot just like him, can’t see the forest for the trees…they both need a tree to fall right on their fucken head to wake them up.
Also, I would post his IP address as I am sure that you have enough fans to fuck his computer up without your requesting it…
Gunner
You have my support, though I don’t deserve what is done for me. I am one of the worthless who has no job, no talent, no ambition, no want for life. But thank you, still.
AS You won’t get an answer as they are cowards. They live in the past and I believe are in for a rude awakening. The dems demonstrated today the “war was lost” by passing that stupid bill. I feel their are way more supporters of the cause than against. Polls are deceptive. A sad thing about this day and time traitors are not being tried….Reps need to step up to the plate and demand this. I would also like to mention a commentor on here by the name of JOHN RYAN…he is a muslim extremist trying to infiltrate sites to further his propoganda. Appears to be an American which he isn’t. He picked up on your frustration and went with it. Don’t let him do this. Shut him down.
May God Bless you and all ofthe soldiers that have served our country and are serving now and most of all
Thank You from the bottom of my heart for defending me and my
own.
Suz
To this soldier, and to all our soldiers in these troubled times I say, WELL DONE! For so many reasons! You are fine and noble patriots who deserve the fullest respect, and admiration.
Let the words of detractors fall away from you. Those who speak ill of your efforts think hardship, and suffering, are what happens when they forget thier sunscreen on the way to the beach. It is easy for them to condemn, for they do not take serious consideration before they speak. It is easier to borrow words from someone who dresses nice and promises them things, than to think for themselves.
If you feel a cold wind blowing from some rude people, you stand in good company. George Washington led soldiers like you at valley Forge, and the cold they endured was impersonal, if just as chilling. Then the troops had to worry about frostbite. Now the troops are threatened with having thier heart broken by betrayal. Let those of us who love you for your service, be your blanket!
We want to let you know how much we appreciate your commitment to duty, and honor, and country! We want to stand for you when you step off the plane after coming home! We want to open doors for you, and nod in resopect, and show you in so many ways, how you, our heroes, are so well thought of! By those who can think! No volunteer soldier is any less than a champion of his or her people. A defender! A savior! No greater love hath anyone, than to pay, as some of you do, the ultimate price for your devotion.
I have tried, but I feel even this is inadequate thanks, and praise for what you ’soldiers’ do for all the rest of us. If I can wake up even one more person to the meaning of what you stand for, and the horror of what you stand in the face of, I have helped, and in such a small way I find some comfort. I wish I could do more, but I’m just a fat old civilian who wasted his youth instead of doing something great, never making the kind of selfless commitment to our great land that you took on voluntarily. I have just words, and they do not seem enough.
Thank you! Thank you! For everything we have, and hold dear!
Thank you SOLDIER!
And, USA, all the way!
John Ryan! Take your pitchfork, and go home!
USA, all the way!
Thank you Michael Weaver (USA all the way). Well said!
Michael Weaver !! Take your pitchfork and go home ?? What does that mean ?? That I am the devil ??
If so perhaps you must think yourself to be one of your God’s chosen.
Several years back, a reporter interviewed a terrorist. He asked the terrorist what would happen if the American troops retreated (cut and run?) and went back to America.
The terrorist thought about that a bit, and responded, “We would follow.”
All people need to understand (and most do on this site) that this is a religious motivated war. A war that has over 100 Million Islamic followers who are motivated to destroy America. Why the desire to do this? We are not Muslim and are a threat to the religious “freedom?” that Islam brings.
hello,I m an italian soldier!this video is very sad….poor family!…
